When temperatures rise

CEDAR Outreach and Peer workers have been hard at work checking daily on the well-being of those living in various encampments around Abbotsford, as well as delivering cold, clean drinking water to those living at these camps, along with other necessities, like food and sunscreen.

CEDAR workers buy four cases of water a day, along with a couple of bags of ice, from Walmart before they head out to the camps and go searching around Abbotsford for anyone stuck in the heat.

The CEDAR van is also stocked up with donated sandwiches, hygiene supplies, summer clothes, and sunscreen to give away at the encampments as well. CEDAR doesn’t just hand out donations and leave, our mission prioritizes relationship building, and working with our clients to help bridge the resource gap. Handing out these necessary supplies is a way for us to get our foot in the door, build rapport with our client base, and help connect those clients to the resources they need to reach their goals.

Help us help the community by donating summer essentials like water bottles, ice, Gatorade, freezies, hygiene supplies, pre-packaged snacks, sunscreen, bug spray, wide-brimmed hats, and tarps used to make shade. Call us at 604-835-5225 or email admin@cedaroutreach.com to arrange a donation pick up or drop off, or we also accept monetary donations.
